Bungie has officially kicked off Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2026, bringing the annual class showdown back to the Tower from March 24 through April 14. As always, Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks are battling for bragging rights, with every activity and every medallion turning into another point on the scoreboard.
Guardian Games revolves around earning and banking medallions by completing featured activities, then pushing your class toward the top spot by consistently turning those medals in. It’s competitive, it’s grind-friendly, and it’s built to reward players who keep showing up throughout the event rather than only dropping in once.
This year, Guardian Games also refreshes the Rushdown experience to make replays feel less routine. Bungie has introduced randomized boss encounters along with daily boss rotations, so repeat runs should be harder to “autopilot” and easier to enjoy over multiple sessions.
Limited-time Guardian Games weapons and event rewards
Guardian Games 2026 includes a dedicated reward track packed with event collectibles, including a new shader, ship, emblem, Ghost Shell, and holofoil weapon variants. On top of that, three event-specific weapons are available for a limited time during the event window:
Triple Laureate – Stasis Hand Cannon
The Beacon – Solar Fusion Rifle
Keraunios – Arc Trace Rifle
To help players stock up on cosmetics, Bungie is also introducing Rare Vanguard Orders as an additional Bright Dust source during Guardian Games. Each completion awards 50 Bright Dust until you reach the weekly cap of 1,000 Bright Dust. After hitting the threshold, further completions award 10 Bright Dust each. That Bright Dust can be used on Guardian Games-themed Legendary Armor Ornaments, making it easier to chase the fashion side of the event without relying entirely on other seasonal income.
Magic: The Gathering crossover lands with Guardian Games
Launching alongside the event is a new Destiny 2 crossover with Magic: The Gathering. The collaboration adds armor ornaments and cosmetics inspired by iconic characters and visual themes from the long-running card game, giving each class a distinct set tied to a fan-favorite planeswalker.
Bungie’s featured ornament sets are:
Titan – Flamecaller Set, inspired by Chandra Nalaar
Hunter – Mindsculptor Set, inspired by Jace Beleren
Warlock – Death’s Majesty Set, inspired by Liliana Vess
The crossover also includes additional cosmetics for players who want to fully lean into the Magic: The Gathering look, including the Promised End Exotic Ghost Shell, Grand Praetor Exotic Ship, Voice of Hunter 7/6 Exotic Sparrow, Overrun Finisher, Ignite Your Spark Exotic Emote, Sol Ring Exotic Emote, and the Basic Lands Shader Pack.
Shadow and Order still set for June 2026
Guardian Games arrives while Bungie continues preparing Destiny 2’s next major update, Shadow and Order. The studio previously announced that the release was delayed as the team reworked parts of the update and expanded its scope. It’s now scheduled to launch on June 9, 2026, with more information expected closer to release.
With a refreshed Rushdown mode, a full set of limited-time Guardian Games weapons, more ways to earn Bright Dust, and a headline crossover packed with cosmetics, Guardian Games 2026 is positioned as one of the more content-rich versions of the event in recent years—especially for players who enjoy competition, loot chasing, and Destiny 2 fashion.
