Crimson Desert Is Finally Playable on Intel Arc GPUs With Latest Drivers 1

Crimson Desert Finally Runs on Intel Arc GPUs Thanks to the Latest Driver Update

Intel Arc GPU owners finally have a way into Crimson Desert, thanks to a new Intel graphics driver update that removes the game’s long-standing “Graphics device is currently not supported” roadblock. It’s a big step forward for players using Intel Arc cards, even if the experience still comes with a few rough edges.

When Crimson Desert first arrived, it simply wouldn’t run on Intel Arc GPUs. Players launching the game were met with a blunt compatibility error, and the situation quickly became a hot topic in the PC gaming community. Pearl Abyss had previously indicated in its FAQ that Intel Arc graphics cards weren’t supported, which sparked frustration among users and prompted a public response from Intel, who said they were “hugely disappointed” that Arc support wasn’t available despite efforts to coordinate testing and validation with the developer.

After the backlash, Pearl Abyss acknowledged the issue and promised Intel Arc compatibility in a future update. Now, that promise is starting to materialize. With Intel’s Game On graphics driver version 32.0.101.8629 WHQL, Crimson Desert can launch and run on Intel Arc hardware.

Early reports from the Intel Arc community suggest that the game is working on Arc GPUs, with multiple users confirming successful gameplay—particularly on the Intel Arc B580, a card that previously couldn’t run the title at all. However, players should keep expectations in check right now. While the game is playable, it isn’t fully polished on Arc yet, and visual issues are still being spotted. Some users describe face-related graphical glitches on characters, along with terrain artifacts and other odd anomalies during gameplay.

Stability also appears to depend on specific settings. Some players say they can get a solid experience by tuning graphics options, but enabling AMD FSR may cause crashes. At the moment, Crimson Desert includes support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4, but Intel XeSS isn’t available in-game yet. Considering Pearl Abyss is actively moving toward better Intel Arc support, XeSS could potentially be added in a future patch to improve performance and image quality for Intel GPU users.

For now, the takeaway is simple: Crimson Desert is no longer completely locked out for Intel Arc owners, and that’s a meaningful win. The next milestone will be continued optimization—better performance, fewer visual bugs, and more reliable upscaling support—so Intel Arc players can enjoy the game without compromises as new updates roll out.
