Citizen Japan is expanding its compact radio-synced watch lineup with four new models powered by the H149 Eco-Drive calibre. Designed for people who want everyday practicality in a smaller, more wearable size, these new references—CB1160-55A, CB1160-55E, CB1160-55L, and CB1160-55W—bring radio-controlled accuracy and travel-friendly features to a mid-size 37.5 mm case.
The standout here is the H149 movement, a solar-charged Eco-Drive engine built to eliminate routine battery changes. It’s a familiar and well-regarded calibre in Citizen’s lineup thanks to two big quality-of-life features: a perpetual calendar that keeps the date in check, and “direct flight” world time. With direct flight, you can jump between 26 time zones by rotating the crown, making it a strong option for frequent travelers or anyone who regularly works across regions.
Citizen also leans into comfort and durability with its signature Super Titanium construction for both the case and bracelet, finished with Duratect surface hardening. The brand notes that this material is significantly lighter than stainless steel while also being far more resistant to scratches—plus it’s hypoallergenic, which can matter if you’re sensitive to certain metals. Despite the feature set, the watch stays slim at about 9.3 mm thick, and a sapphire crystal adds extra protection for everyday wear.
Each of the four models brings a different personality through its dial color. The CB1160-55A aims for a timeless, versatile look with a white dial paired with gold-toned indices—an easy match for business attire and formal settings. Meanwhile, the CB1160-55E (black), CB1160-55L (blue), and CB1160-55W (green) go for a more modern feel, using deep, sunray-finished dials that shift subtly in the light.
