ChillerX: Shiftall’s Innovative Cool Vest for Sweltering Weather

Shiftall has introduced the ChillerX cooling vest, a groundbreaking solution aimed at keeping you comfortable even on the hottest days. Utilizing Peltier cooling technology, this innovative vest efficiently reduces body temperature, potentially preventing heatstroke by removing excess heat.

The ChillerX is set to launch in Japan in August 2025, priced at approximately $275. It leverages Peltier coolers, which operate by passing electricity between two semiconductors. This process creates a temperature difference, allowing one side to become significantly cooler than the surrounding air. This technology could offer more effective cooling than traditional methods like sweating or fans.

The vest works by circulating water, which absorbs body heat, through a Peltier cooler on the back. This device transfers the heat to the air, cooling the water to up to 35°C below ambient temperature. The vest’s operation time can reach up to 2.5 hours using a 25,000 mAh battery, and it can run indefinitely with an external power supply. Additionally, sustainable users can power it via solar panels.

Weighing in at 1.6 kg (3.5 lbs) without the battery, the vest is also designed for easy maintenance as it can be detached for handwashing. For those unable to access the ChillerX, ice vests available online may be a viable alternative.

This cutting-edge vest represents a significant advancement in wearable cooling technology, offering a practical solution for enduring extreme heat conditions.
