Brook has officially launched the Wingman FGC VX in the US, giving PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners a simple way to use third-party controllers that normally won’t work with their consoles. If you’ve ever wanted to play PS4 or PS5 games using a favorite controller that wasn’t designed for PlayStation—whether it’s a popular Bluetooth gamepad or a specialized fighting stick—this compact converter is built to make that possible.
The Wingman FGC VX is designed as an ultra-low-latency controller converter, plugging directly into a console’s USB-A port. If you’re working with USB-C, you can still use it with an adapter. Once connected, wired controllers plug into the converter, and wireless controllers connect remotely, letting you bring a wide range of controller styles to PlayStation gaming without switching ecosystems.
Brook says the Wingman FGC VX supports more than 150 third-party controllers, significantly expanding what PS4 and PS5 players can use. Beyond basic compatibility, it also aims to preserve and enhance features players care about. For supported controllers, it can enable six-axis motion control. Players can also tweak vibration strength, remap buttons to match their preferred layouts, and fine-tune control with custom stick calibrations—handy for competitive play, fighting games, and anyone who wants a specific feel from their setup.
Two standout extras are Turbo mode and Macro mode. Turbo mode lets you automate repeated actions like continuous firing or jumping, while Macro mode helps simplify complex fighting game inputs by assigning combo-style actions. For competitive environments, Brook also notes that these special modes can be disabled using the Brook Converter Center software on PC, which may be important for meeting e-sports rules and tournament requirements.
The Wingman FGC VX isn’t limited to PlayStation, either. It can also be used on PC in X-Input mode, meaning desktop and laptop gamers can connect and use their preferred console controllers and fighting sticks without needing to swap hardware when switching between platforms.
In terms of portability, the converter is small enough to toss into a travel bag for tournaments or gaming nights. It measures 77.0 x 20.3 x 12.4 mm (3.0 x 0.8 x 0.5 in.) and weighs 13.4 g (0.47 oz.), making it an easy add-on for players who want more flexibility from their controller collection.
The Brook Wingman FGC VX is available in the US with an MSRP of $71.99.
