BenQ has expanded its lineup of gaming projectors with the introduction of the TK710 and TK710STi models, catering to gamers looking for an immersive large-screen experience. These projectors are designed to bring gaming environments to life with their impressive brightness and 4K UHD resolution.
The TK710 and TK710STi feature a robust laser light source that boasts a lifespan of up to 20,000 hours, ensuring reliable long-term performance without the frequent need for replacement like traditional bulb projectors. Both projectors provide a substantial brightness of up to 3,200 lumens, making them suitable for various lighting conditions.
Expect large, vibrant images from these projectors, as they have the capability to project up to 150 inches in a 16:9 aspect ratio. Despite their competitive pricing, BenQ describes the resolution as “true 4K UHD,” with a 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution, indicating that they may employ pixel-shifting technology to achieve such clarity on a budget.
Colors should appear both accurate and vivid, thanks to the 95% coverage of the Rec.709 color gamut. Additionally, the projectors include a Lightsource Dimming feature and a high contrast ratio of 600,000:1, enhancing the depth and detail of the image.
Gamers, in particular, will appreciate the low input lag: 16.7 milliseconds at 4K@60Hz and an even faster 4.2 milliseconds at 1080p@240Hz, making these projectors suitable for competitive gaming. Connectivity is also well-rounded with two HDMI (2.0b/HDCP2.2) ports, accommodating a range of gaming consoles and PCs. Other features include a built-in 5W speaker, HDMI eARC supporting Dolby Atmos, USB-A 2.0, and RS232 interfaces, adding to the flexibility and immersive experience.
The TK710 offers ample placement flexibility with a 1.15-1.5 throw ratio and 1.3x zoom. For those with space constraints, the TK710STi provides an outstanding short-throw ratio of 0.69-0.83 and 1.2x zoom, suitable for smaller rooms. To ensure a pristine image, both models include vertical and horizontal keystone correction, while the TK710 also offers vertical lens shift adjustment.
An additional exclusive feature of the TK710STi is the inclusion of the QS02 Android dongle, providing smart capabilities that are not present in the standard model.
As for the pricing, the BenQ TK710 retails at various global price points, such as $1,799, €1,499, £1,399, or AU$3,499. The short-throw TK710STi comes at a slightly higher price, reflecting its additional features.
These new projector models from BenQ represent a strategic choice for gamers who want large-scale visuals without sacrificing performance. With 4K UHD resolution, low input lag, and multimedia connectivity, the BenQ TK710 and TK710STi projectors stand out as strong contenders in the gaming market.
