Ayaneo is sharing more about its upcoming Pocket S Mini, a compact gaming handheld first revealed in September 2025 and still targeting a March 2026 launch. While the company isn’t ready to spill every spec yet, the latest update finally clarifies several key areas fans have been waiting on, including the screen tech, core hardware, and design finish.
One of the biggest confirmations is the display type. Ayaneo says the Pocket S Mini will use an LCD panel and keep the previously announced 4:3 aspect ratio—an increasingly popular choice for players who enjoy classic and retro-style titles. Ayaneo still hasn’t announced the exact screen size, but it strongly hints that the panel may match the Pocket Air Mini’s display footprint, suggesting a compact form factor built for portability without sacrificing playability.
On the performance side, Ayaneo has confirmed the Pocket S Mini will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3x Gen 2, the same processor used in the Pocket S (the 6-inch model released in 2024). That’s notable because it positions the Pocket S Mini as more than just a “cute” small handheld—this should be a device designed for serious gaming performance in a smaller shell. However, Ayaneo is still keeping memory and storage configurations under wraps, so buyers will need to wait to learn the available RAM options and internal storage tiers.
Ayaneo is also leaning into premium materials and controls for this model. For colors, three options are planned: Black, White, and a Retro Power edition.
