Apple’s Bold $500 Billion U.S. Investment Plan Over Four Years; Tim Cook Applauds Trump’s Role in Boosting Semiconductor Manufacturing

In the midst of ongoing tensions over import policies, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook virtually joined a business executive meeting to discuss President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office. Cook highlighted Apple’s ambitious plans and investments in the United States, emphasizing the company’s dedication to boosting domestic semiconductor manufacturing.

Cook proudly announced that Apple intends to invest $500 billion in the U.S. over the next four years. He stressed the company’s strong ties with domestic suppliers and expressed appreciation for Trump’s commitment to enhancing local semiconductor production. Cook stated, “I want to acknowledge President Trump for prioritizing domestic semiconductor manufacturing, and Apple will collaborate with the administration on these investments.”

The White House shared Cook’s video comments, where he elaborated on Apple’s vision: “Apple is a uniquely American company, founded here and deeply invested in our impact across the country. We’re excited to announce a $500 billion investment over the next four years, expanding teams and facilities in states like Michigan, Texas, and California.”

Cook went on to explain plans for a new factory in Texas focused on advanced AI servers and announced an expansion of the U.S. advanced manufacturing fund to further support local businesses. With over 9,000 suppliers nationwide, Apple aims to source more than 19 billion chips in America this year, including advanced chips from TSMC in Arizona.

While Apple faces challenges due to high import taxes affecting product prices, it plans to maintain current prices for now. However, new product announcements might come with price adjustments. Apple has long encouraged its suppliers to ramp up U.S. manufacturing, a move supported by former President Joe Biden through the new CHIPS Act, facilitating TSMC’s expansion in the country.
