Apple is gearing up for a significant product launch, with the anticipated release of iOS 18 candidate builds. However, full access to the platform will coincidentally align with the unveiling of the iPhone 16 series. Ahead of this, Apple has rolled out iOS 18 beta 8, which is likely the final beta before the major “It’s Glowtime” event. Alongside iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, beta 8 versions for watchOS 11, macOS 15, visionOS 2, and other updates have been made available.
Developers can now download the latest iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 8 on compatible devices via the Settings app. To do this, your Apple ID must be linked to your Developer Account to receive over-the-air updates. Navigate to Settings > General > Software Updates > Beta Updates and follow the on-screen instructions to install the beta.
In a parallel update, watchOS 11, macOS 15, tvOS 18, and visionOS 2 have also reached their eighth developer builds. These, too, require a connected Apple ID to a Developer account.
iOS 18 is set to be one of Apple’s most substantial updates yet, bringing notable enhancements and a trove of new features to iPhones and iPads. Although the full suite of Apple Intelligence features won’t arrive until the iOS 18.1 update, users can expect immediate benefits from several new additions. These include a redesigned Control Center that allows for greater customization and the ability to create additional pages for more options. The Home Screen also sees improvements with tools to customize app icons and insert empty spaces, offering greater personalization.
Furthermore, Apple’s new iOS 18 aims to deliver significant design and functionality upgrades, aligning with user expectations for a more intuitive and versatile experience.
