Chinese laptop manufacturers are gearing up to introduce their latest gaming laptops featuring the RTX 5050 GPU. One company, MECHREVO, is set to launch its cutting-edge gaming laptop this weekend.
MECHREVO has unveiled the Kuangshi X Gaming Laptop, equipped with the GeForce RTX 5050 GPU, and it’s slated for release on June 24th. Although NVIDIA has not made any formal announcements regarding the RTX 5050’s official launch date, MECHREVO is ahead of the curve. While the specific release dates for both desktop and laptop versions remain under wraps, leaks hint that the desktop variant might debut in July.
According to information shared on social media, MECHREVO’s Kuangshi X Gaming Laptop will feature the GB207-based GeForce RTX 5050 chip. This indicates that the RTX 5050 laptop variant will soon become available. Other manufacturers have not yet announced exact release dates, but it’s likely that additional RTX 5050 laptops will hit the market soon, as several major brands have begun listing their models with retailers.
It’s unclear if the RTX 5050 laptops will be available globally on the same date, but the Chinese hardware market will definitely see these devices first. This launch is expected to precede the anticipated release of the RTX 5050 desktop variant next month.
The GeForce RTX 5050, although the entry-level option in the RTX 50 series, boasts the GB207 die with 2560 CUDA Cores and 8 GB of VRAM. Debate continues over whether it will feature GDDR6 or GDDR7, but the latter seems more likely for the laptop variant.
Aimed at delivering smooth 1080p gaming at a budget-friendly price, the RTX 5050 supports DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation techniques. This release might mark the end of the initial GPU batch, with potential “Super” series updates expected later in the year.
