Following the impressive introduction of the RDNA 4 GPU lineup with the RX 9070 series, AMD caught the attention of mid-to-high-end consumers. Their flagship RX 9070 XT, launched at $599, has been positioned to compete against NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 Ti, offering excellent performance at an attractive price. However, AMD hasn’t fully addressed the lower-budget sector so far, leaving gamers eager for more affordable options. Enter the RX 9060 series, poised to fill this gap.
AMD China has hinted that the Radeon RX 9060 GPUs will debut by Q2 2025, aligning to take on NVIDIA’s forthcoming 60-class GPUs. While specifics are still under wraps, the RX 9060 series is expected to utilize Navi 44, a more budget-friendly GPU architecture, likely equipped with about 8 GB of VRAM—though this could vary based on AMD’s final positioning of the models.
With the successful launch of the RX 9070, AMD shifted the spotlight towards their approach in the mainstream GPU arena making it crucial for NVIDIA to strategize smartly with their upcoming releases to avoid losing market traction.
