Amazfit Unveils Active Max: AMOLED Brilliance Meets a 25-Day Battery

Amazfit has expanded its Active lineup with the new Amazfit Active Max, a feature-packed smartwatch designed for people who want a bright display, long battery life, and serious fitness tools without jumping into premium pricing.

The Active Max is built around a 1.5-inch AMOLED screen with automatic brightness adjustment. Amazfit says the display can hit up to 3,000 nits at peak, which should help with visibility outdoors in harsh sunlight. The watch itself weighs 39.5 grams without the strap, aiming to stay comfortable for all-day wear, workouts, and sleep tracking.

On the fitness side, the Amazfit Active Max supports more than 160 sports and activity modes, covering everything from running and gym training to a wide range of outdoor workouts. Select modes include helpful extras like automatic detection, automatic pausing, and basic route creation for walking and running, making it easier to start a session quickly and keep cleaner workout records.

Health tracking is anchored by continuous heart rate monitoring, including automatic detection of maximum heart rate and heart rate zones. You can also set heart rate alerts to warn you if you cross certain thresholds. After you finish training, the Active Max provides workout summaries both on the watch and inside the Zepp app, with insights that include training load, recovery status, sleep quality, heart rate variability, and Amazfit’s BioCharge energy metric.

Battery life is one of the big selling points. Amazfit rates the Active Max for up to 25 days under standard usage. With heavier use, it’s expected to last close to two weeks, and it’s rated for up to 64 hours of continuous GPS tracking, which can be particularly appealing for long hikes, endurance training, or multi-day outdoor trips.

Navigation is another highlight. The watch supports offline maps and built-in navigation tools, including topographic maps, ski maps, and contour maps—features that are especially useful if you train or travel in areas where mobile signal is unreliable.

For everyday convenience, the Active Max includes a built-in microphone and speaker, and it can connect to Bluetooth headphones and other Amazfit accessories. It also comes with 4 GB of onboard storage for offline music and podcast playback, using mini-apps that can be downloaded through the Zepp app. If you like keeping your workout data synced across platforms, the Active Max can share activity information with services including Strava, adidas Running, Google Fit, Komoot, and Relive.

Contactless payments are available on European models through Zepp Pay, although availability depends on bank and card support in your region.

The Amazfit Active Max is officially on sale in Europe as of December 30, 2025, priced at €169.90. For buyers looking for an AMOLED smartwatch with offline maps, extensive sports tracking, music storage, and standout battery life, it positions itself as a strong mid-range option in the current fitness smartwatch market.
