The Browser Company has unveiled a Pro subscription plan for Dia, its innovative web browser that heavily embraces AI features. Priced at $20 per month, this plan offers unlimited access to Dia’s AI-driven chat and skill capabilities.
With the introduction of this paid tier, users who opt for the free version will encounter restrictions on AI feature usage. Although specific limits haven’t been disclosed, CEO Josh Miller mentioned in July that the browser would remain free for those using AI features just “a few times a week.”
Miller also hinted at the possibility of multiple subscription tiers in the future, ranging from $5 to several hundred dollars monthly, suggesting a variety of options based on different features.
Recently, Dia’s Pro plan was briefly noticed by users on Reddit and Threads when it quietly appeared online, only to be swiftly removed. The subscription option is now officially available and can be activated through Dia’s settings page.
The Browser Company, known for creating the Arc browser, has secured $128 million in investments from firms like Pace Capital and Next Play Ventures, alongside prominent tech figures such as LinkedIn’s Jeff Weiner and Medium’s Ev Williams. This new Pro plan marks the company’s first foray into revenue-generating subscription services.
As competition heats up in the realm of AI-enhanced browsers, The Browser Company is up against emerging options like the Perplexity’s Comet browser, Opera’s upcoming Neon browser, and tech giants like Google and Microsoft, who are integrating AI assistants into their own browsers.
