ADEPT Strengthens Taiwan Presence with First In-Person Meeting Focused on Advanced Packaging
The Advanced Electronic Packaging Technology committee, known as ADEPT, is increasing its activity in Taiwan as the region continues to play a vital role in the global semiconductor and electronics supply chain.
Operating under the Global Electronics Association, ADEPT is focused on supporting collaboration across the advanced packaging industry, a field that has become increasingly important as chipmakers look for new ways to improve performance, efficiency, and system integration.
The committee’s growing presence in Taiwan highlights the island’s importance in next-generation electronics manufacturing. Taiwan is already home to a strong network of semiconductor companies, packaging specialists, materials suppliers, and technology partners, making it a key location for discussions around the future of chip packaging.
ADEPT recently held its first in-person meeting in Taiwan, marking an important step in building closer industry connections. The event brought attention to key areas such as panel-level packaging and substrate technologies, both of which are gaining momentum as manufacturers push beyond traditional chip packaging methods.
Panel-level packaging, often seen as a promising approach for improving production efficiency and reducing costs, is becoming more relevant as demand rises for high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, mobile devices, automotive electronics, and advanced consumer technology. Substrate innovation is also critical, as modern chips require more complex interconnects, improved thermal performance, and greater reliability.
By expanding in Taiwan, ADEPT is positioning itself closer to one of the world’s most influential electronics manufacturing hubs. The committee’s activities are expected to encourage more technical exchange, support standards development, and help align industry efforts in advanced electronic packaging.
As the semiconductor industry continues to face growing performance demands, advanced packaging is no longer just a supporting technology. It has become a central part of innovation. ADEPT’s increased engagement in Taiwan reflects the growing need for collaboration across the entire electronics ecosystem, from design and materials to manufacturing and assembly.
With its first in-person Taiwan meeting now underway, ADEPT is expected to play a larger role in connecting industry leaders and promoting the next wave of advanced packaging development.
